Herbal Mentorship Collective:
Who is this collective for?
This collective is for those who possess a strong foundational, working knowledge of the systems of Western Herbalism, Ayurveda, Dreambody and Shamanism. Ideally this student has studied with Don before, or taken his Online Herbal Course and understands and resonates with his approach to healing. The members of the collective are mostly pursing a profession in the healing arts and want to collaboratively learn and share their experiences while having access to one-on-one, individualized mentoring from herbal elder, Don Ollsin. The mentees weave together their treatment plans with a strong focus on wellness consulting and record their hours of study and practice in order to become eligible to become registered herbalists with the American Herbalists Guild.
Why do I need a mentor?
The one thing Don wishes he had when he was starting out his career in Herbalism was a knowledgeable, reliable mentor. He knows the ins and outs of the herbal world and has treated thousands of clients and taught countless students. This knowledge and experience is invaluable to educate, train and mentor herbalists for the next generation and beyond. It is not an easy profession, but with the help of a mentor you will be much more likely to succeed. The work of being a healer is deeply rewarding, and many people feel themselves called to it. Don wishes to help you along on your journey and to assist you in following your passion for healing others and the planet.
What will I gain from being a part of this collective?
You will be a part of a collective and a movement to support and empower one another on your journey as healers. You will have access to many online resources, including your own forum where you will share treatment stories, questions and experiences. You will be collaborating and learning with and from other mentees. You will have individual one-on-one sessions with Don where he will provide sound advice and guidance designed especially for you. You will be working towards meeting all of the requirements to become a registered herbalist with the American Herbalists Guild.
How many hours a week do I need to devote to the collective?
At least 3 to 5 hours per week. The more you can put into it, the better, for your personal and professional development.
How will I connect with the other mentees?
You will regularly connect online through the Moodle forum. You will also connect online face-to-face at the live webinars twice a month. You will likely share contact information, and may connect offline or outside of the collective as well.
How much face time will I have with Don?
You will have bi-monthly group webinars, and one-to-one check-ins with Don once a month.
Will I become a professional herbalist?
You will begin consulting once you join the collective. When you feel confident and have enough hours practicing and consulting you will be eligible to apply to become a registered herbalist with the AHG. You may already be a practicing herbalist and in the collective you are able to share and gain information from other healers and have access to an herbal mentor who will assist you in your practice. You are not required to be a part of the AHG in order to practice Herbalism, but being a part of it has advantages and benefits --- and the Herbal Mentorship Collective prepares you to become a registered herbalist with the AHG.

How long can I be a part of the collective?
You can be a member of the collective for as long as you like. It is endlessly helpful to have the support of other herbalists and the heartfelt guidance of an herbal elder. We want to help blossoming herbalists stay connected and support one another throughout their journey as healers. We look forward to connecting with you.
